Ricky Tew & Called to Bless Band, Billy & The Kids, $15 Cover, Bluegrass

Ricky Tew has had a passion for music since he was a small child and has been playing music regularly since he was a teenager. Ricky has always primarily played gospel music, but Ricky says when he retired several years ago, he started going to Lorraine’s Coffee House and Music and that Lorraine’s inspired him to start playing bluegrass music. Shorty after his newfound inspiration, Ricky decided to form “Called To Bless” (a bluegrass/gospel band) and recruited Dennis Cash and Bob Dotson as core members of his Called To Bless band. Dennis and Bob have both played bluegrass music their whole lives, including professionally for many years. Additional singers and musicians are added to the band as needed. Ricky says Lorraine’s Coffee House and Music has been instrumental in his appreciation for bluegrass music and that he is always especially excited to be singing and playing at Lorraine’s

 

Billy and The Kids Bluegrass is a family band based out of Jacksonville , NC.  They perform regularly in Gatlinburg, TN and throughout the East Coast. Billy Murphy, father, plays banjo, guitar, dobro and does some lead/harmony singing. Brandi Jo, 16, plays mandolin, guitar, fiddle and does lead/harmony singing. Landon, 14, plays bass and does some lead singing. Jacob, 12, plays cajón and does some lead singing  Katlyn Humphrey, family friend, plays guitar, bass, mandolin and does lead/harmony singing.
